IELTS Speaking chủ đề Shopping Part 1

Question 1: Do you enjoy shopping? Why or why not?

Frankly speaking, I wouldn’t call myself a shopaholic, but I do enjoy going shopping to an extent. It can serve as an interesting means to unwind and treat myself. Moreover, browsing the shop can also be an exhilarating experience as I can come across unique items.

Question 2: How often do you go shopping in a typical week?

Well, it depends on the occasion but I typically go 2 to 3 times a week. I purchase all of my planned weekly grocery list at once and only venture to the market when essential items run out. However, I might browse online stores more often just to hunt for new deals and promotional offers.

Question 3: Where do you usually shop for groceries?

Like many others, I habitually visit the supermarket near my house for my groceries, since big chains will guarantee their products’ quality and origins. Still, I sometimes shop at the farmers’ market in my neighboring district for some seasonal produce

Question 4: Are there any items you prefer to buy in person rather than online? Why?

I prefer to shop for clothes and shoes in person. It’s crucial to ensure that the items fit me nicely and are made of decent material, which can only be checked in-store. Also, in case they don’t drape on me as I expected, I can just put them back on the shelf and avoid the time-consuming and frustrating return process.

Question 5: Do you prefer shopping alone or with friends/family?

My favorite would be to go shopping with a friend or a family member. Wandering at the shop could be a wonderful time to bond with your loved ones because you can exchange shopping recommendations and finish the to-buy list together. In addition to that, having someone with me also helps me avoid impulsive buying decisions.

Câu hỏi cho Speaking chủ đề Shopping Part 2

Speaking chủ đề Shopping: A place where you like to go shopping

I’d love to share about the farmers’ market in my neighboring area, the place that captivated my heart. There is often a market gathering every Saturday morning, in which people can set up various stalls overflowing with fresh produce. Truthfully, it’s full of vibrant and fresh atmosphere from the lively conversations and colorful crops.

The first reason I fell in love with the market is that it sells everything you want, from seasonal crops to local ingredients like honey, cheese, and even freshly baked bread. The special thing about the fruits and vegetables is that they are completely organic and fresh from the farm. With that being said, they always be picked just days or even hours before being on the shelf.

Every week, I travel to the market and fill up my shopping bag with seasonal goodies that are value for money. During springtime, I can have big carrots and sweet strawberries. In fall, it’s about the plump cabbages and green spinach. Having an abundance of fresh produce at my fingertips not only makes shopping for groceries exciting but also inspires me to make new dishes. Not to mention that whenever I go shopping at the market, I know that my purchases can directly benefit the farmers and my community.

Besides the plentiful sources of food, the market is a great place for building connections with others. Occasionally, I bump into my neighbors and friends, who are also browsing some freshly picked fruits or trying to get a good deal with the homemade cheese. Then, I often chat with them and end up exploring the stalls together. In the end, shopping at the local market has undeniably become a cherished part of my weekly routine.

IELTS Speaking chủ đề Shopping Part 3

Question 1: How have shopping habits changed over the past few decades in your country?

Absolutely, shopping habits in Vietnam have completely transformed compared with the past. Previously, people relied on local markets as they were the only options available. On the other hand, young consumers nowadays are more inclined to purchase items online, thanks to the prevalence of shopping platforms. For instance, just by scrolling on the “Shopee” application, buyers can easily compare prices of different products, add them to a shopping cart, and make payments anywhere at any time. Still, the traditional market scene is preferred by many people due to its authentic and face-to-face buying experience.

Online platforms

Question 2: What impact do you think globalization has had on shopping trends?

It is undeniable that globalization and integration have reshaped shopping trends worldwide. Specifically, consumers are provided with a wider variety of products from not only domestic but also international brands. Buying from world-famous designers can be easier than ever before, as the options are readily available through online platforms and multinational retailers. In addition to that, shoppers also significantly benefit from globalization, as competition between businesses often leads to competitive pricing and tempting discounts.

Question 3: How do online reviews and ratings affect people’s purchasing decisions?

From my point of view, online reviews can hold major sway over buying decisions. For many people, reviews from previous customers can offer a window into the quality of the goods, and the customer care process of the store. As a result, consumers can make informed decisions and reduce the risk of fraud and scams through online platforms. Suppose that a store has many positive reviews, they tend to appear to be more reliable despite being an unfamiliar brand. However, customers should be aware of fake positive reviews and think carefully before making a purchase.
