TOPIC 1: WEEKENDS

Question 1: Do you like the weekends? 

I used to enjoy the weekend but now, I don’t really enjoy them. What I mean is that when I was younger, there were weekends when I had a good time with my family and friends, after studying throughout the week. However, at the moment I’m about to graduate high school, so I spend most of my weekends applying myself in extra classes to prepare for the university entrance exam. So I hardly have time to put my mind at ease. 

Question 2: What do you usually do at the weekends? Do you study or do you work? 

Well, as I said before. Because of the upcoming examinations, I’m used to burying myself in extra classes and assignments. During the weekends. I’m less likely to have time with my family and friends. However, I try to make use of my evening time playing games, having dinner with my family or friends in order to shake off my tensions and negative thoughts. 

Question 3: What did you do last weekend? 

Let’s see! Last weekend my extra class on Sunday was cancelled, so my friend decided to pay a visit to a market called Đồng Xuân to experience the local cuisine. Well, by dint of this unplanned outing, I have a chance to recharge my batteries and gain a better mood for the upcoming week. While I still have a quality time to share my personal feelings with my friend.

Question 4: You make plans for your weekends

Well, since I describe myself as a scheduled person, I always do daily and weekly planning. But, however, sometimes unexpected action events occur. Like last weekend, my class was cancelled, so I and my friend decided to go to a local market. I just love my feelings to dictate my observation. 

Question 5: Describe a weekend that you enjoyed and still remember

Of all the trips I’ve taken, one particular weekend getaway stands out vividly in my memory. It was last summer, right after I had just finished a particularly demanding exam period at university, leaving me completely drained both physically and mentally. So, when my friends proposed a short escape, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. We settled on Da Nang, a vibrant coastal city just a few hours from my hometown by train.

Our two-day trip was packed with exhilarating activities. The first day, we headed straight for My Khe Beach, and I was in awe of the crystal clear water. The conditions were perfect – gentle waves and a pleasant breeze, a stark contrast to the stifling university library. In the evening, we indulged in a feast of incredibly fresh seafood at a humble local eatery. On the second day, we rented motorbikes and rode along the scenic coastal road. The breathtaking scenery—with the blue sky meeting the golden sand and the endless ocean stretching to the horizon—was a sight to behold.

Beyond the beautiful landscapes, what truly made that weekend unforgettable was the company. We shared countless laughs and stories, creating memories that I will forever cherish. This trip was more than just a break; it was a chance to recharge my batteries and return to my studies with a renewed and positive mindset.

In conclusion, that weekend was truly a perfect escape. It wasn’t just about the stunning locale, but about the invaluable quality time I spent with my friends, which made it a genuinely special experience.
