Tổng quan về tài liệu các đề thi nói IELTS thường gặp

Điều phải biết đầu tiên: Một đặc điểm rất thú vị của bài thi IELTS mà như các giám khảo IELTS thừa nhận đó là khả năng CÓ THỂ DỰ ĐOÁN của đề thi nói. Hay nói cách khác các câu hỏi trong các đề thi kỹ năng Nói có thể lặp lại trong các lần thi IELTS Speaking khác nhau và thí sinh hoàn toàn có thể căn cứ vào danh sách các câu hỏi đã được sử dụng trong các lần thi trước để luyện tập.

Những thí sinh đã từng dự thi IELTS đều thấy rằng việc câu hỏi rơi đúng vào chủ đề mà mình đã từng luyện tập đã là một may mắn lớn, chứ không nhất thiết phải trúng toàn bộ cả câu hỏi đến chủ đề. Vì vốn từ vựng và cấu trúc câu được tích lũy qua quá trình luyện tập trước đó cũng giúp cho thí sinh nâng cao sự tự tin và khả năng nói cũng trở nên mạch lạc, trôi chảy, và đặc biệt là thể hiện tốt về nội dung nhờ vốn từ vựng và cấu trúc câu phong phú.

Smartcom English đã tổng hợp các câu hỏi IELTS Speaking đã sử dụng gần đây nhất để cho các bạn luyện thi IELTS tham khảo và sử dụng làm bộ tài liệu thực hành để luyện tập hàng ngày, giúp bạn tự tin hơn trước các kỳ thi IELTS Speaking.

PHẦN 1: CÁC CÂU HỎI VỀ CÁ NHÂN

Speaking Part 1: Personal Questions

Điều phải biết thứ 2: Bài thi IELTS Speaking Part 1 sẽ có khoảng 7 đến 8 câu hỏi, tập trung vào 5 chủ đề quen thuộc, thường là về cá nhân mỗi chúng ta ví dụ như: học tập, gia đình, sở thích, làm việc hay nơi ở, v.v… Trong đó 3 câu hỏi đầu tiên luôn được hỏi về các chủ đề gồm: học tập, công việc, và nơi ở của thí sinh. Sau đó giám khảo sẽ hỏi khoảng 4 câu tiếp theo về các chủ đề khác liên quan đến cá nhân thí sinh. Giám khảo sẽ chỉ đọc các câu hỏi có sẵn trong phiếu hỏi mà không được hỏi thêm câu hỏi khác.

Tuy Speaking Part 1 chủ yếu tập trung vào các câu hỏi quen thuộc, nhưng cũng có những câu hỏi khá bất ngờ đối với thí sinh mà không phải câu nào cũng dễ trả lời, ví dụ như: lập danh sách, việc phán xét người khác, sự gọn gàng, v.v… Chính vì vậy bạn nên xem một lượt các câu hỏi đã từng được hỏi trong IELTS Speaking Part 1 dưới đây để có sự chuẩn bị trước. Tốt nhất là các bạn luyện IELTS nên tìm người cùng luyện nói, nhưng nếu không có bạn cùng luyện thì bạn cũng có thể luyện một mình bằng cách tưởng tượng ra bạn đang được giám khảo đặt các câu hỏi và độc thoại câu trả lời của mình.

Để luyện tập hiệu quả và thể hiện được bài nói của mình tối đa vào ngày thi, bạn cần cần lưu ý một số điểm sau:

• Bạn được quyền hỏi giám khảo những từ vựng mà bạn không biết trong câu hỏi.

Ví dụ: Examiner: Do you like wearing special costumes?

Candidate: What do you mean by “costumes”?

• Nhưng nếu bạn không hiểu toàn bộ câu hỏi thì giám khảo sẽ không giải thích lại câu hỏi đó mà sẽ chuyển sang câu hỏi khác để tiếp tục phỏng vấn bạn.

Điều phải biết thứ 3: Để thành công trong bài Speaking, bạn cần rèn luyện đều đặn hàng ngày và bạn chính là người giúp bản thân được nhiều nhất. Hãy tìm thầy giỏi khi cần, nhưng chỉ có chăm chỉ thực hành mới giúp bạn thành thạo thực sự.

PHẦN 2: CÁC CÂU HỎI TỰ THOẠI TRONG 2 PHÚT

Ở phần thi thứ 2 của bài thi Nói (IELTS Speaking Part 2), bạn sẽ được cho một chủ đề với dạng câu hỏi phổ biến là: Describe a… hoặc Talk about a… (hãy miêu tả một… cái gì đó). Với xu hướng những năm gần đây, bài thi phần 2 này hay hỏi về những trải nghiệm cụ thể, hoặc những sự vật, sự việc cụ thể, khiến mức độ khó của câu hỏi có phần tăng thêm một chút đối với các thí sinh Việt Nam, vì khi chúng ta càng phải tả cụ thể, chi tiết về một việc gì thì ngôn ngữ của nó càng trở nên phức tạp hơn.

Sau khi có phiếu câu hỏi trong tay, bạn sẽ có 1 phút để chuẩn bị và 2 phút để nói bài nói của mình. Bạn sẽ được cung cấp giấy và bút chì để viết dàn ý, và sau đó bạn có thể nhìn vào dàn ý của bạn đã viết ra để nói.

Bạn hãy xem một ví dụ của 1 phiếu câu hỏi dưới đây:

Chú ý:

• Bạn chỉ nên tập trung trả lời vào câu hỏi với các gợi ý của nó, tuyệt đối không nói sang vấn đề khác không liên quan đến câu hỏi.
• Bạn nên tập luyện nhiều lần để có thể đánh giá trong 2 phút bạn nói được bao nhiêu thông tin. Những người nói nhuần nhuyễn thì thường nói được khoảng 250 từ trong 2 phút, tương đương độ dài của bài luận trong Writing Task 2.
• Bạn hãy thể hiện bài nói của mình có tổ chức: có mở đầu, có phát triển ý, và có kết thúc để có thể đạt điểm cao hơn.
• Hãy nói tối đa những gì bạn có thể cho đến khi giám khảo bảo bạn dừng bài nói.
• Chủ đề của Phần 2 sẽ được sử dụng để phát triển các câu hỏi của Phần 3.
• Ở cuối Phần 2, giám khảo có thể hỏi thêm 1 câu hỏi nhỏ để chốt lại chủ đề mà bạn vừa nói, bạn đừng cố gắng trả lời dài cho câu hỏi nhỏ này, mà hãy trả lời ngắn gọn thì sẽ hiệu quả hơn.

Bây giờ xin mời bạn hãy tham khảo các câu hỏi phần 2 dưới đây và tìm tài liệu để phát triển bài nói của mình. Bạn tuyệt đối không nên học thuộc lòng các bài trả lời mẫu vì tất cả các giám khảo IELTS đều được đào tạo để phát hiện ra các bài nói mẫu mà thí sinh có thể sử dụng. B

ạn hãy tích cực tìm ý và từ vựng trong các nguồn tài liệu tiếng Anh bản ngữ, và xây dựng bài trả lời cho mình dựa trên các câu hỏi phụ theo công thức 4W1H là: What, Where, When, Why và How liên quan đến chủ đề mà bạn có trong danh sách dưới đây. Trong giai đoạn thu thập tài liệu để chuẩn bị cho các chủ đề của Part 2, bạn không nên sử dụng những câu hỏi gợi ý cụ thể của các chủ đề, vì nó sẽ hạn chế tư duy của bạn trong các câu hỏi phụ đó. Bạn chỉ cần sử dụng công thức 4W1H như trên để phát triển câu trả lời cho bản thân là đảm bảo chắc chắn trả lời tốt với bất cứ câu hỏi phụ nào trong bài thi Speaking Part 2.

Sang phần 3, giám khảo sẽ tiếp tục hỏi bạn các câu hỏi được phát triển từ Chủ đề của Phần 2, nhưng những câu hỏi này thường phức tạp hơn và thiên về tranh luận nhiều hơn.

Bạn phải chuẩn bị tinh thần để có thể phải trả lời nhiều câu hỏi ở Phần 3, có khi lên đến 6 câu hỏi hoặc có thể hơn. Khi bạn trình bày càng tốt thì giám khảo càng hỏi nhiều hơn và câu hỏi càng khó hơn để tạo cơ hội cho bạn thể hiện bản thân và đạt mức điểm cao hơn nữa.
